Honda Achieved Highest Sales Growth in Industry during First Semester of 2016

Jakarta, Indonesia – Entering the end of first semester in 2016, the automotive market in Indonesia was still showing a stagnant growth, even decreasing 0.6% compared to the same period in 2015. However, PT Honda Prospect Motor succeed to achieve growth in sales within the period, with 36% increase compared to last year. Honda’s sales growth was recorded as the highest among other major brands in the country. 
 
Until May 2016, Honda has sold 90,190 units of cars in Indonesia and projected to close the first semester of this year with over 100,000 units of sales. Moreover, Honda also managed to increase its market share from 15% at the end of 2015 to 20.5% by the end of last May. Honda’s sales in this semester was mainly contributed by its newest model, Honda BR-V. Starting its first delivery in January this year, BR-V contributed 30% of Honda sales with 27,085 units of sales until May 2016. 
 
Other main models like Honda HR-V and Honda Mobilio also contribute significantly to Honda sales in this period. HR-V made up 21% of total Honda sales with 21,142 units while Honda Mobilio contributed 20% of Honda sales with 20,426 units of sales. 
 
To support its increasing sales and aftersales demand, this year Honda also actively expanded its dealer network across Indonesia. Currently Honda already had 180 dealers throughout the country completed with sales, service, and spare parts facilities. In the first semester of 2016, Honda has opened 10 new dealers in various areas, and targeting to achieve total of 200 dealers by the end of this year.

To celebrate this year’s Idul Fitri holiday season, PT Honda Prospect Motor introduces new sales and aftersales packages for its customers. The program named “Hebatnya Punya Honda” was aimed to ease customers in purchasing Honda cars and provide additional benefits during their daily usage.
Through this program, Honda car buyers can choose one of packages suitable to their needs, which include:
  1. Low Installment starting from 1 million/month + 3 Years Periodical Maintenance package
  2. 0% Interest for 6 months + 3 Year Periodical Maintenance package
Customers can also choose several leasing promotions, including:
  1. Free Periodical maintenance for 3 years*
  2. Low Down Payment starting from Rp. 20 million*
  3. Low Installment starting from Rp 1 million / month*
  4. 0% Interest for 6 months*
  5. Longer lease period up to 8 years*

Beside offering its sales programs, Honda also introduced new periodical maintenance package called “Paket Cermat Mini”. The package was designed to provide more affordable periodical maintenance cost with the same level of quality by Honda authorized dealers. Through this package, Honda customers can buy 1 year package of periodical service which can be extended up to 5 years or 100,000 km mileage. 
 
As with previous periodical maintenance packages, “Paket Cermat Mini” also provides many benefits for customers which includes more economical service cost, free of annual cost increament, payment can be included to monthly car leasing, while at the same time ensures the car always in its prime condition. Currently the package is available for Honda Mobilio and Honda Brio, starting from August 1, 2016.
 
Honda already had provided many benefits for its customers through many aftersales programs, such as Extended Warranty – which enables customers to extend their warranty periode up to 5 years, and Honda Experience – a 24/7 and 7 days/week emergency services when customers have problems on the road.
 
Since last year, Honda also had introduced Honda e-Care apps, which provides easier access to Honda sales and aftersales facilities using smartphone. Through this apps, Honda customers can have a service reminder for their car, book service time in dealers, find dealer locations, and many more. The Application is available for free download at AppStore and Google Play.
 
During the Lebaran period, Honda also organize “Honda Emergency Service” programs, to accompany their customers during holiday’s homecoming season. This year, a total of 93 dealers and road side assistance standby for 24 hours a day – starting from July 1 to 10, 2016, to assist customers along the homecoming route across Java and Bali.
 
“Honda wants to provide satisfying experience for customers, not only when they first purchase the car, but also continues as long as their using Honda cars. We believe this will provide great benefits for customers,” said Tomoki Uchida, President Director of PT Honda Prospect Motor.
