Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. announced its total sales in the passenger car market for the first half of 2017. Honda still remains in the number one position, with a total of 61,428 units sold during this period. Total sales so far this year are up 14% over the same period last year, which enabled Honda to capture 33% market share by gaining consumers’ trust and confidence continuously, plus the launches of five new models addressing consumers’ various lifestyles during the first six months of 2017.
The five new models Honda introduced during the first half of the year are Honda City, Honda Civic Hatchback, Honda CR-V, Honda Mobilio, and Honda Jazz. All have enjoyed tremendous customer feedback since their launch. For example, the subcompact Honda City had the highest sales in its segment with a total booking of over 22,000 units. Another important model is the all-new Honda CR-V, a premium SUV with a 1.6L i-DTEC diesel turbo engine or a 2.4L DOHC i-VTEC engine. It also received excellent feedback, emphasizing its popularity in the SUV category with 6,500 bookings in less than four months following its launch. With the popularity of these new models, Honda topped monthly sales during the first half of 2017. The three models with the highest sales were Honda City at 17,511 units; Honda Civic and Civic Hatchback at 13,692 units; and Honda Jazz at 10,285 units.

*Total sales of passenger cars from January to June 2017 were 186,000 units by estimate, which is 19% growth compared to total sales in the first half of 2016 (154,703 units). Total sales for all vehicles for the total market were approximately 410,000 units, which is 11% growth compared to the same period of 2016 (368,630 units). (These numbers include predictions of total sales in June by some other automobile companies).
