AP Honda Grabbed the NACC Integrity Awards 2015

Bangkok - AP Honda Co Ltd, official distributor of Honda motorcycles in Thailand, was given the NACC Integrity Awards 2015, granted by a judging committee under the Office of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) in recognition of morals, ethics, good governance, business code of conducts, and social responsibility.

AP Honda Co Ltd has been doing business related to motorcycles in Thailand 1986, with guidance of HCG or Honda Corporate Governance – a practice strictly from Honda Motor Japan. The guideline comprises strict practices which are: strictly comply with the laws; respect for human rights; confidentiality; remain political neutral; and environmental conservation and determine to reduce the carbon emission in every of the production process.

Moreover, AP Honda Co Ltd has established “AP Honda for Thai Society” project. The project included “safety riding” campaign which encourages safety riding among Thai motorcycle users, as well as “blood donation” campaign throughout the country which encourages dealers nationwide to call for public to donate blood and give it to the Thai Red Cross Society for 12 consecutive years. AP Honda Co Ltd has also launched activities to develop the youth in different age brackets, including the “31-Legs Race” for primary school level; “Red Champion” to seek football talents from high school level to attend a workshop in England; “Eco Mileage Challenge” a competition to reduce the use of fuel in vocational level and tertiary level; and marketing plan contest for undergraduate level.

The NACC Integrity Awards 2015 is the fifth time held by NACC to encourage and give moral support to public and private organizations that have maintained good governance and seen to society. The award is given in recognition to the company with seven criteria categories illustrating social, economic, and environmental responsibility; corporate governance; respect for human rights; transparency; ethical practice; equitable treatment to all stakeholders; observance and practices to conventional rules and regulations.

The award’s judging committee, established by the NACC, comprised of experts and specialists from different fields including Office of the Civil Service Commission, Transparency Thailand, The Federation of Thai Industries, The National Press Council of Thailand, The Thai Bankers Association, Stock Exchange of Thailand, and State Enterprise Policy Office.
