Bangkok, Thailand - AP Honda, the official Honda motorcycle distributor in Thailand, has strengthened its leadership in CSR of Asia after grabbing the AREA Awards 2016 (Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards) in Health Promotion category from Enterprise Asia. AP Honda has been recognized as an organization that has constantly supported blood donation events in
Thailand as well as to improve the events to be more beneficial for society. The award presentation was recently held at World Sentosa Resort in Singapore. It is also the second year consecutively that Honda has been awarded the AREA Awards, after receiving Investment in People from the company’s safety riding campaign in 2015.
“Determined to be a sustainable organization, AP Honda has brought useful activities to Thai society and inspired Thai people to do good deeds for others. One of the activities was an establishment of network between Honda Wing Centers nationwide to join the blood donation activity since 2004. After 12 years, Honda has already helped donate over 131 million cc to National Blood Center, Thai Red Cross Society, from over 357,000 generous donors nationwide,” said Mr Suchart Arunsaengroj, Vice President of AP Honda Co Ltd.
“The most important factor that brought an overwhelm success to our activity is a cooperation between AP Honda as the center for all Honda Wing Centers in 77 provinces that enabled us to distribute donated blood to patients in provinces in no time, without having to wait for the blood from the central stock. That has not only reduced time and cost of blood distribution, but also saved lives of the people. Presenters and celebrities have also been brought by Honda to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation.”
“Apart from the maximized network, we have also improved the quality of the delivery of the hardware to be more efficient. In 2015, we donated eight-bed mobile blood donation unit which can accommodate up to 200 donors a day, and four mini-buses to mobilize the equipment and personnel. This year, AP Honda has donated another eight million baht to build two plasma blood chiller units, one mobile blood donation unit especially for RH-, and two vans to be used in the National Blood Center. The above-mentioned donation was simply to help facilitate the Thai Red Cross Society to operate smoothly and increase its capacity to receive blood donation.”
“The determination has made us receive the AREA Awards 2016 in Health Promotion category from Asia Enterprise which has been such an honor and pride for us. The award is also our second time to win an award from Asia Enterprise. In 2015, our safety drive campaign won us and award in the Investment in People category. We would like to thank Thai people who have the voluntary spirit to lend a hand to society when needed. The award has become a moral support for AP Honda to keep our determination to continue our activity to find more blood donors nationwide.”
