Honda Prospect Motor Participates in 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show with 'Born To Race' Theme
Tangerang  Honda is participating in the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), held in Tangerang, West Java, from August 10 to 20, 2017. This year, Honda has adopted a “Born to Race” theme to represent the sporty character of its model lineup, with the all-new Civic Type R as the main highlight.
 
The opening of the Honda booth at GIIAS 2017 was attended by:
  • Shinji Aoyama, Chief Officer, Regional Operations (Asia & Oceania), Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and President & CEO, Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd.
  • Takehiro Watanabe, President Director, PT Honda Prospect Motor
  • Kusnadi Budiman, President Commissioner, PT Honda Prospect Motor
  • Henry Agus, Commissioner, PT Honda Prospect Motor
  • Benawati Abas, Senior Vice President, PT Honda Prospect Motor

In his opening speech, Shinji Aoyama, Chief Officer, Regional Operations (Asia & Oceania), Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and President & CEO, Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., emphasized the importance of Indonesia as one of the biggest markets for Honda globally, along with the increase in Honda sales and production in Indonesia in recent years.
 
“In line with the new Honda 2030 vision, Honda is committed to creating unique and challenging products to provide people the joy and freedom of mobility and the joy of making their lives better.  We will continue offering the ideal products and services that fulfill society’s expectations and meet the individual needs of global customers including people in Indonesia,” said Aoyama.
 
Takehiro Watanabe, President Director, PT Honda Prospect Motor, said, “Our presence at this automotive exhibition is the manifestation of our commitment to the Indonesian automotive industry. Throughout the years, Honda has introduced many products, both local and global models, to Indonesia.”
 
Watanabe further explained this year’s booth theme “Born To Race” saying: “Racing has long been Honda’s DNA and spirit, a concept that is reflected in each of our products, especially the Civic Type R that we launched today.”
The Honda booth located at 10A Hall, with a size of 2,636 m2, was designed with a modern, sophisticated, and sporty look in line with the Honda theme and the character of the cars on display.
 
In total, Honda has 33 cars on display including the Honda Civic Type R, which is making its debut in Indonesia.  Honda is also introducing the new Honda Brio RS CVT Special Edition and model refreshments of the Honda HR-V 1.5L E CVT and Honda HR-V Mugen 1.5L E CVT.
 
Honda is also exhibiting models equipped with Modulo and Mugen accessories that offer a sportier and more elegant appearance. These accessorized models include the Honda CR-V Prestige Turbo with Modulo accessories, Honda BR-V with Modulo accessories, Honda Civic Hatchback Turbo with Modulo accessories, and Honda Jazz RS with Modulo accessories.
 
Jonfis Fandy, Marketing & Aftersales Service Director, PT Honda Prospect Motor, said, “GIIAS is an important automotive exhibition that highlights national automobile market trends. At this event, Honda is launching some new and special-edition models and offering an interesting sales promotion program to facilitate customers who want to purchase Honda cars.”
