Bangkok -- A.P. Honda Co., Ltd. (APH), an official distributor of Honda motorcycle in Thailand, announced its annual sales in 2017 reached number one position for 29 consecutive years with accumulated sales of 1,424,000 units, from a total market of 1,816,000 units. For Big Bike segment, Honda also achieved top position with 12,900 units sales from a total 29,600 units. The company also announced the new campaign, “WHAT STOPS YOU?”, which is the four challenges to being a sustainable organization and introducing two new models “All New Honda Super Cub” and “Honda CB300R”.
Mr. Yoichi Mizutani, President of A.P. Honda Co., Ltd. stated at the press conference that “In 2017, Thai motorcycle market increased slightly for 4% with total sales of 1,816,000 units. In Big Bike segment, Honda sold 12,900 units, out of a total 29,600 units. This has made Honda maintain the number one position in each segment and be the market leader of motorcycle industry in Thailand for 29 consecutive years.
“This year, we expected Thai motorcycle market to grow to 1,870,000 units while Honda should reach approximately 1,480,000 units sales. Meanwhile the Big Bike segment is expected to grow continuously to 34,500 unit while Honda projects our sales will reach 15,700 units. This year, Honda is planning to introduce ten new models including hybrid and electric models to Thai market. We have started 2018 with two new models launching today which are the “All-New Honda Super Cub”, the models that features a DNA of “original Japanese retro” and “Honda CB300R”, the model that carries the original craft of the Japanese.”

“The first challenge is to introduce new products and new technology. This year, we plan to introduce 10 new models, which is highest in our record, to the market. This also includes ones with our important hybrid and EV technology as a big surprise.
The second challenge is to introduce a new business - Cub House, our flagship store which will provide customers the new experiences of Honda unique lifestyle and values. The first branch is expected to be opened in Ekkamai area by end of this March we plan to introduce 10 branches within this year.
The third challenge is a creation of new application for two-way communication and CRM channel to enhance the current service. The application will allow Honda to create a tailor-made content for individual customers. The new channel will be first used at Honda Big Wing and CUB House.
The final challenge is to set the new standard for Honda Wing Center, by rearranging and zoning the current showroom to be more pleasant and convenient for visitors. Besides, products and services will be presented differently and interestingly for customers with digital lifestyle preference. Meanwhile, we will enhance our shop’s evaluation standard for best customers’ satisfaction,” concluded Mr. Suchart.
One of the highlights was new models launching. The All New Honda Super Cub is developed under “Japanese Forever Retro” concept with design based on its original Japanese Retro Cub that comes with a round LED headlight and round winker lights. To emphasize its retro touch, the passenger seat is designed to be separated from the rider’s in aligned with the retro-looked meter. The model comes with 4-speed PGM-FI engine technology and 4.2-liter fuel tank which can runs up to 60.3km/liter. The model featured in six colors options, green-white, blue-white, red-white, yellow-white, pink-white, and white. It is now available at Honda Wing Center nationwide with suggested retail price at 47,100 baht.
Honda CB300R is the motorcycle originated from the concept “Japan Crafted”, a combination of Japanese craft spirit and cutting-edge technology of sport model. The model comes with a unique character of “Neo Sports Cafe” model such as a round LED headlight, a 41 mm upside-down shock absorber with a performance like Big Bike model. Other features including the ultimate safety technology such as ABS with G Sensor, 296mm floating front disc brake that comes with radial mount 4 pot calipers. Powered by a 300cc PGM-FI engine, the model is also equipped with adjustable rear mono shock absorber which can be adjusted to seven levels for city ride and long touring, a new exhausted pipe and new LCD digital meter exclusively designed for the model. The CB300R will be available from February onwards at Honda Wing Center nationwide.
